Show GOOD ROADS CONVENTION ASSEMBLES IN ST. LOUIS One Thousand Dclcf atcs Attend Opening: Session; . Rooscrclt to Speak on Wednesday. " ST. LOUIS, April 27. The national and International convention of the Goods Roads association was called to order at 10 o'clock in Odeon hall by Chairman I P. Klngsland. The early morning trains brought In hordes .of delegates, while many others had arrived ar-rived Sunday. Among the earlier arrivals arriv-als was Gen. Nelson A. Miles, U. S. A., president of the National Highway commission, accompanied by his wife. He will deliver an address tomorrow. At least 1000 delegates attended the opening session. - The convention will continue for three days, roldlng forenoon fore-noon and afternoon sessions. President Roosevelt will make the closing address late Wednesday afternoon. The presiding officer, Hon. , W. H. Moore, president of the v association, made a short address. ', President Moore Introduced Mayor Wells, who accorded a hearty welcor- V" to the association and the visltingd!-egates. visltingd!-egates. Gov. A. M. Dockery followed with an address on "The State's Duty," In which he outlined what the State should do in co-operating the work of Improvement. - "The Exposition" was a subject fully ' treated upon by President D.
