Show 26 BLTTHS Ai;p 16 DEATHS THIS iLFl The report of the Foard of Health for the week "ending' June 13th shows the report of three . births more than for the preceding week and one more than for tha same period last year, 28 births having been reported, the number of each sex being equal. A like, condition condi-tion prevailed among decedents, eight deaths of each sex being reported during dur-ing the week, an Increase of six over last week and a decrease of seven as compared with the corresponding week of 1902.. The principal causes of death were diseases of the respiratory organs and three suicides. Five new cases of scarlet fever were reported during the week and two cases recovered, leaving 14 cases in the city, three more than the previous weeki though less than one-third of the number In detention at the same time last year. At the close of last report there weres five cases of diphtheria In detention; seven new cases developed during the week, and three having been discharged, dis-charged, left nine cases in quarantine, a compared with five for the same week last year. While the new cases of smallpox decreased as compared With last week, the toal number In quarantine is five more than for the week ending June 6th. Eight new cases developed during the period covered cov-ered by this report, leaving 38 cases In detention. Four cases of measles, and one case each of typhoid fever and chicken-pox were also reported. . One new case of smallpox was reported re-ported today, Maud Jones, aged sixteen, six-teen, of Wheeler avenue. |
