Show . BROWNE'S RECITAL. Incidental to the commencement exercises exer-cises of All Hallows college and the opening of the college addition, - just completed. Dr. J. Lewis Browne, the distinguished composer and organist, will give a recital at the Tabernacle Monday night assisted by Miss Emma Ramsey, mezso-soprano; . Prof. Anton Pedersen, viola and piano; Prof. Mc-Clellan, Mc-Clellan, piano; Mr. Charles Kent baii- , tone; Master Arthur Pedersen. violin, and all the musical organization of All Hallows college. The programme for the occasion Is sufficiently varied to'meet all tastes. The local talent - engaged would form an entertainment worthy of the greatest attention, aside from the appearance of Dr. Browne. Dr. Browne Is widely known for his musical compositions, those published numbering more than sixty, aa well as for his mastery of the pipe organ and ! plana He waa born In England and has studied under some of the best masters of America and Europe. He was created cre-ated Doctor of Music by the university of the State of New York in 1902. Dr. Browne has been with the Marist Fathers Fath-ers for years. His present position is organist of their church (Sacred Heart) in Atlanta. Ga., where he also teaches in the college. He Is also professor of organ and composition in the Klndworth conservatory and conductor of the Atlanta At-lanta Symphony orchestra. |
