Following the negotiation of a new contract by ctty officials with the United CoHlerlea company, price of coal used by the city of Denver and sold to the publlo will be reduced by amounts varying from 5 to e cents a ton on different grsdea, it waa announced today by J. J. V'lck Roy, city commissioner of supplies. sup-plies. . Lump coal, which previously coat 16.40 a ton. will be sold at 15 45; mine run. which waa IS a ton, will be reduced re-duced to $4 2i. and alack coal will aril at t 10 a ton Instead of II.7S. The new contract ia effective from June 1. The United CoHlerlea company operates oper-ates a coal mine south of Denver. |
