Special to The Tribune. PARK CTTV, Aug. 17. W. W. Evans, chairman of the board of Summit county commissioners, will go to Salt L-ako this week to confer with the commissioners of Salt Lake county and the officials oE the Commercial club regarding the proposed Salt Lake and Brighton road by way of Park City. The new route will be up Parley's canyon to Park City, then over the Crescent tramway to Brighton. The distance from Park City is eight miles. The approximate cost to repair the Crescent Cres-cent road will be $10,000. Six miles of the road iy in Summit county and two miles in Salt Lake county. Is Scenic Route. Mr. Kvans will have the county surveyor sur-veyor go over the Crescent road early this week to estimate, the cost and then will submit the report to the Salt Lake county commissioners and the officials of the Commercial club. The new route, by way of Park City, will auord better scenery than that up Big Cottonwood canyon. The Crescent road winds up the mountain from Park City, and at the top, a distance of two miles, a person can see the Kamas valley, seventeen miles away. Attractions Many. Travelers coming this way also will see the great silver-lead mines of the state and see an up-to-date mining city, cement ce-ment streets and sidewalks and a water system that is one of the best in the state. Then, for a side trip, they can go to Utah's favorite resort, the famed Hot Pots, only fifteen miles through the Heber vallev, and then down Provo canyon, via Provo City, to Salt Lake. Those not wishing to go that way can take the Lincoln highway to Kcho, then to Ogden and from Ogden to Salt Lake. |
