Show Sees Peril in Present Unrest. LOS ANG-FTIjKS, Cal., Aug. 17. Gardner of Missouri, addressing 1500 members of the "Missouri State Soci- j ety of Southern California at a picnic I here yesterday afternoon. "He told the former residents of his state that unless "calm and deliberate judgment prevails, this condition can easily develop Into an upheaval." In the course of his remarks he vigorously vigor-ously denounced trouble makers and blamed politicians and' anarchists alike for present disturbances. "The antagonistic attitude of capital and labor toward each other has done much to cause unrest. This must be remedied. A great national conference should be called, to be participated In by both employers and employees," he said. |
