Show MESSAGE RECEIVED BY RELATIVES OF AVIATOR PETERSON MIXXmPOLIS, Aug. 17. The following follow-ing telegram was received by Mrs. S. G. Peterson at Hutchinson. Minn., today from her son, who is held by Mexican bandits for ransom. It was given out here tonight bv the aviator's father: "Marfa, Tex.. Aug. 17, 1:40 p. m. "Mrs. S. G. Peterson, Hutchinson, Minn.: , "The following telegram has been rc-ceived rc-ceived from your son: " "Candelarin. Tex.. Aug. 17. ! " 'Mrs. S. G. Peterson, Hutchinson, Minn.: ! " 'Davis and myself hnd forced landing ! in Texes on border. Were captured by Villista Mexican bandits, and are being held for $ 1 n.000 ransom to be paid to Dawkins Kilpatrlck, storekeeper in i Candelarin, Tex., not later than Aug. 13, ' or we will be killed. Mr. Peterson I wired Colonel langhorne that the ransom ! demanded would be sent. The following message was sent to his son bv Mr. Peterson: "Making everv effort to comply with request of bandits, but set more time. Impossible! to pr-t money there Monday," wps the first to'egram. This was followed by a second wire stnting t.iat the money had been forwarded. for-warded. Renlies to his oueries were received bv Mr. Peterson in Minneapolis tonight. One from Maior Walton was as foi'ows: "Full information received here. Government Gov-ernment is handling matter. Wait de-ve'opments. de-ve'opments. WALTON." I Mexican bandits in the Big Bend district, could be located tonight in Berkeley. Strathmore, Cal., where his parents were said to reside, could not be reached tonicht by t olograph or telephone. A newspaper representative sent by automobile auto-mobile from Fresno, Cal., sixty miles north, to Strathmore. to learn if the family fam-ily had communicated with Lieutenant Davis since his disappearance, was not expected to report until late tonight.
