Show LINE-UP ON LOYALTY. The so-called "left wing" of the Socialist So-cialist party has called a convention for Chicago in September, the avowed purpose pur-pose of which is to break away from the moderate group of the party and organize a new one frankly committed to communism. The old Socialist organization, or-ganization, the extremists declare, has become nothing more than a "welfare and uplift" society. These radicals would break with the moderates because the latter stood loyally behind the government gov-ernment 's war program. The proposed political party platform will demand, according to its framers, the "dictatorship of tho proletariat," completely appropriating the principles or lack of principles of the Bolshevists Bolshe-vists of Russia, with whom an alliance is demanded, together with support for the Spartacans of Germany. The creation crea-tion of workingmen's councils to "act in suppressing' the fraudulent bour-'geoisie bour-'geoisie democracy, the financial oli-jgarchy oli-jgarchy and capitalistic bureaucracy" also is proposed. The launching of this new political j parry will afford a splendid opportunity I for a line-up of Americans on the qoes-I qoes-I tion of loyalty. Membership in this organization of un-American purposes will definitely establish the status of the voter who embraces these imported notions of government. Also it will purge the Socialist party of numbers of individuals whose activities have all but destroyed that political body. I |
