Show VERDE EXTENSION , SPEEDS OPERATIONS ! Since the resumption of mining after the long layoff in the early spring of this ' year, the United Verde Extension Mining Min-ing company has been able to speed up operations not a little, says the Boston News Bureau. During the time its labor la-bor was recalcitrant, causing a cessation of operations, United Verde took occasion I to inaugurate many economies; it made I additions and improvements to both mill 1 and smelter and began the concreting of 1 its Audrey shaft. These are expected to : be completed within a short time and 1 will be paid for from earnings. July is the first full month the smelter 1 has been in operation at a near capacity . level. In this month United Verde pro-! pro-! duced 4,582,372 pounds of copper, com-, com-, pared with 3,000,000 pounds in June. I At present United Verde has approximately approxi-mately 16,000,000 pounds of copper on hand," in transit and in process of refining. refin-ing. Exclusive of its metal inventories, i the company had almost $4,500,000 in cash and Liberty bonds on July 1. United Verde still continues to wear the laurel as the richest copper mine on this continent.
