Show IB SHIPMENTS IT iip OFF Special to The Tribune. EUREKA, Oct 19. The pragen Consolidated Con-solidated Mining company has been forced to discontinue the shipment of Iron ore, this action being taken early In the 'week when word came from the smelters that they were not in a position to accept any more of this fluxing material. Officials Offi-cials of the mine are at a loss to understand under-stand this order, but it. is likely due to -the fact that the smelters have been getting get-ting ore In which there Is ample material for fluxing purposes. For some time the Dragon has been shipping heavily from its iron deposits, the output of this ore amounting :o as much as 6000 tons per month and seldom dropping below 4$00 tons monthly. The price of iron ore also has been advanced to some extent, in order to offset more expensive mining costs, and last month the Dragon was able to show profits of naarly $14,000. While the mine will continue con-tinue to produce and ship its other ores, including the low-grade material which is now going to the Tintic mill, the cutting cut-ting off of all Iron shipments will mean a. substantial decrease in the earnings of the comoany. The .north end of the Dragon Consolidated Consoli-dated mine, from which the mill ore is being taken, is now under lease to the Tintic Milling company of Silver City. |
