Tho German government has addressed a note to the Russian government, in which it says German ami Austrian deserters at Moscow are threatening to lake forcible possession of the Swedish and Danish consulates, in the same manner that they have already taken possession of lodgings for war purposes. "They are endeavoring, by violence," says the note, "to put these prisoners into the Red Guard. The civil and military mili-tary authorities at Moscow are said to be powerless and in some i instances to favor such activities. . The German government gov-ernment expects immediate energetic measures to be taken by the Russian government, gov-ernment, and especially expects the dissolution dis-solution of the war prisoners' committee, composed of these deserters, under the leadership of the Austrian Azennz, and the arrest of all its members." LONDON-, April 2. The Russian government, gov-ernment, according to a Russian wireless statement received here, has addressed j the following to the German government: Neither the councils of the central government nor the local authorities are sending red guards to Finland. If the German government has in its possession information that red j guards are arriving in Finland from Russia, the Russian government will make inquiries and take most severe measures against it. The Russian government will be very grateful to the German government for an indication indi-cation of the points on the Finnish frontier at which Russian red guards have entered Finland. |
