Show i INDIAN WAR VETERAN . DIES OF. PNEUMONIA Special to The v Tribune. AMERICAN FORK, .Tan. 2. Robert Kirkman, 73. a Black Hawk "Indian war veteran, died at the home of his son, Jesse Kirkman, today. He had been in poor heal I h for the past nine months, since the death of his wife, hut was taken down with a severe cold about two weeks a?o, which developed into pneumonia. Mr. Kirk man was born i n E ngland , February 23, 3 S4o. and came to America with his parents in lSoo, crossing the plans in the handcart company of that year. His father died on the plains through exposure and his younger brother was badly frozen, losing both feet as a result. Mr. Kirkman himself suffered suf-fered the loss of part of his toes from freezing. With the remainder of the family, fam-ily, they located at Springville, where they made their home up to about fifteen fif-teen years ago. when Mr. Kirkman moved to this city. He is survived by three sons and three daughters, as follows: William LI. Kirkman of Salt Lake, Mrs. Nell Wing of Maple ton. Mrs. Julia Storrs, Ernest Kirkman.
