Show MAN IS KILLED IN LEAP FROM J TRAIN Special to The Tribune. OGDEX, Jan. 2. -Ixiapin? from the side door of a box car on a southbound freight, Ernest Rirhby, about 50 years of age, believed be-lieved to have been a tramp, was killed instantly at 2 o'clock this afternoon under un-der the wheels of northbound Oregon Short Line passenger train No. 20. The accident occurred in the deep Sandrtdse ! cut about two miles south of Ogden. The mangled body was broueht to the Lindquist undertaking rooms here pending pend-ing ii quest for rela tives. So far as indicated in letters found on the body, the only living relative is a don, Hildiir Birkoy, now serving with the American forces in France. In the event tha t oi her relatives cannot be found. Sheriff H. C. Peterson will ask the military mili-tary authorities to -notify the soldier of the death of his father. The letters by whi-h identification was made possible had been addressed to the man at Omaha, Kansas Oily and Butte, indicating that ho had been on his way west from some point in the east. |
