A prominent worker at , the Neighborhood Neigh-borhood house, where children are provided pro-vided for in a day nursery and kindergarten kinder-garten while their mothers work out by the day, said recently, in discussing the work of the Neighborhood house: V "Never before iu the life of country 0 and community has there beeu such a desire on the part of the people to reach out and help little children. In the stress of war and new responsibilities. ou own Neighborhood house has not been forgotten. The publis lias gener- ousiy responded to its needs and manifested mani-fested a kindly interest in its welfare. "The problem now confronting those interest ed in .settlement work is the housing problem. Women who are compelled com-pelled to earn a living for their little ones are entitled to more comfortable and better home environments. Neighborhood Neigh-borhood house has been exceedingly for-tunatey for-tunatey during the past few weeks in i finding a friend in 'Hdwin S. llalleck, IprincijKil of the Fremont school, who lias deeded the property known ad llalleck llal-leck h::ll to the Neighborhood House association. ' ' l-'or many years Mr. llalleck lias been known as a philanthropist in Sait Lake City, his interest centering in i working women and little children.
