Show REYNOLDS MED ON EDUCATION BOARD Extension Division Will Study Reconstruction Problems. F. TV. Reynolds, director of the extension exten-sion division of the University of Utah, has been appointed to a position in the newly organized division of educational extension of the department of the interior in-terior at Washington. "The recently organized division of educational extension Is the result of a presidential appropriation of $150,000," Mr. Reynolds said. "The work of the div.'sion in general is the study of re- cnriHtrnnt inn .m it rii):it.- tn ml ner t ion Specific and immediate tasks are to serve as a federal clearing house to the " extension divisions of the several states, making available material that has hitherto hith-erto been inaccessible and serving in developing de-veloping new projects, such, for example, as an Americanization educational, program pro-gram of national scope. The division will also undertake to salvage and to adjust to irrent and future needs the educational educa-tional activities that were developed as war measures, such, for example, as that curried on during the war by the bureau of public information. "The significance of this new movement move-ment fnr a ffderal support of extens:on education through the country is so great that it is winning the active and immediate im-mediate support of all the universities. That this support may take auspicious form, a convention of the National University Uni-versity TOx tension association has been called to inert in Chicago during the latter lat-ter part of January. At this convention Hie officers of t lie new federal organization organ-ization will be present officially to present pre-sent the plans which are to be worked out between now and the time of the convention." Mr. Reynolds will report for work in his new position January 1. |
