'Food will win the war' Is the battle cry. Nearly Near-ly two million women have taken the pledge to furnish the food, our allies and overseas armies require and already they are visibly increasing the available supplies. sup-plies. The Brnall amounts which each individual in-dividual is asked to save through substitution sub-stitution and avoidance of waste, when multiplied by millions, becomes an effective ef-fective total. The whole problem will be solved if the American people will eat less of the foods which, because of their concentrated nutrlt Ive value, must be sent abroad and more nf other foods of which there is abundance. The foods that must be saved are wheat, beef, pork, dairy products nnd sugar. Those that should be used generously arc fish, poultry, vegetables and all cereals except wheat." |
