Show GIVES UTAH'S STAND AT RAILWAY HEARING The position of the Utah Transportation bureau as intervener in the federal interstate in-terstate commerce commission hearing at Denver the Papt week, was set forth by W. S. McCarthy of the Utah board succinctly. suc-cinctly. Mr. McCarthy at the hearing said : We desire to state for Utah interests inter-ests that whatever adjustments are . granted by the commission, we. of course, expect the interests of Utah to be given consideration. Asked by H. A. Scrandett. commerce attorney for the 1 "nion Pacific railroad, a.-tine' as chief counsel for the railroads, whether or not. if the commission granted the rates prayed for without adjustinsr the rates from New York, Utah would be satisfied. Mr. McCarthy replied : Utah has no ohjection at any time to any community being given a rate adjustment. We are not now and never ha ve been satisfied with the Utah rats. We do not think for one instant that Colorado Is asking for anything to which she is not eiuuled. I |
