Show MONTPELIER GIVES WELCOME TO GUARD MONTPELIER, Idaho. Jan. 28. A thousand citizens of Montpelier and surrounding sur-rounding towns were at the depot Saturday Satur-day evening to welcome home the Bear Lake members of the Idaho National Guard who arrived here at 6 p. m. from Boise, where the guard has been stationed the past four weeks. A reception was given the boys at Montpelier's new city hall, which was followed by a banquet at the Hotel Burgoyne cafe. Later the guardsmen went to the ball in the pa-I pa-I vilion. which was largelv attended by people from all parts of tlie country. Of the nineteen from Bear Lake county who enlisted and left last June 17 re-" turned. Everett Herman and D. C. Bowen of Montpelier stopping at Boise and Black-foot, Black-foot, respectively. The names of these who returned are J. M. Stevens, R. W. Beckwith. E. E. Smith. W. G. Harding, E. C. Hansen, C. E. O'Connor, c. W. Mliwain. A. E. Reibfr, M. S. Sornson. II. Mcintosh. E. E. Brown and I. Jortcenen of Montpelier, P. TT. Budge of Paris. W. S. Dunford. D. Haddock. K. Thomock of Bloominglon and E. W. Beutier of Liberty. |
