Show DEPARTMENTS SHOW ITEMS OF EXPENSE Bill for Consolidation of State Inspection Inspec-tion Divisions Will Bring Exposition Expo-sition of Needless Outlay. When the bill consolidating the various va-rious health, dairy, food, weights and measures, hotel inspection and the work of the various boards of examiners comes up for consideration there will be presented a statement drawn from the official figures of the state reports, showing that for the year ending November No-vember 3U, 1916, it cost $30,696 to operate op-erate the departments which it is intended in-tended to bring under one head. The Tarious "dairy and food actirities with allied departments cost $13,132 to operate. This money went as follows: Dairy and food bureau, $186; dairy and food' commissioner, $2400; clerical and contingent expenses, SGS90; hotel inspector in-spector and contingent expenses, $2015.33; weights and measures work and contingent expenses, $1640. The expenses in the board of health are itemized as follows: Secretary's salarv. $-1000; clerical expense, $2400; contingent expense, $4526, and board of health vital statistics $1341, making a total of 12.268. It required $5296 for the various examining ex-amining boards to get through the year, and of "this amoimt'it cost $242S for the board of barber examiners alone.
