Show ADMITS HE SERVED LIQUOR TO POLICE Trial of the appeal case of the city against C. F. Blankenship, charged with unlawful sale of intoxicants at the West Side Automobile -club, was begun yesterday yes-terday morning before Judge J. Louis Brown of the Third district court. Argument Argu-ment on a motion for non-suit resulted in a ruling for the city. Introduction of evidence was completed by the city and the taking of evidence for the defense begun yesterday afternoon. after-noon. Austin Trambly, a waiter at the club, admitted under cross-examination that he served two police officers with drinks, but protested that he did it from the private locker supply of a member of the club at the request of that member. He said that the 50 cents received by him was in the nature of a "tip" and not in payment for the liquor served. |
