Show I WORK RESUMED ON BONNEVILLE GROUND Continuation of Eig Tunnel Promises Interesting Developments at Early Date. Special to The Tribune. PROVO, Feb. 7. Work has been re-' s timed on the Bonneville Mining company's com-pany's property, about three miles south of Provo, after a suspension of about two years. There is a tunnel in more than 60X feet which was run toward and into the mountain from a point near the county road for the purpose of prospecting pros-pecting the territory for minerals, and work on this tunnel. It is expected, will be taken un again at some future time. The ccst to date is about S75.0D0. The present tunnel, which is being" driven by Henry Brown and Brig Muhlestein under a contract, is for the purpose of obtaining water from an underground un-derground flow for the irrigation of land owned by the Knight interests. The tunnel is eighty feet lower than the Bonneville Bon-neville tunnel, and farther south water has been encountered at about this level, which encourages Mr. Knight to believe that water will appear on about the same level on the Bonneville ground. There is also a possibility of the new tunnel opening mineral. In the upper tunnel, about 2000 feet from the portal, seams of copper ore going down were cut and the lower tunnel will open the copper ore if it goes down. |
