Show AL YOUNG IS AFTER- BOUT WITH WOLGAST Special to The Tribune. OODEN", Feb. 7. Al Young, the lightweight light-weight boxer who lias appeared In several sev-eral excellent matches before the Elite Athletic club, has returned from a trip to Oklahoma, his home state, where he met and defeated Jack Reed, the former Australian lightweight champion. The match was staged at Henrietta, Ok la., and Reed was in such condition after five rounds that his seconds tossed in the sponge. Young was offered a fight with Harvey Thorpe or Olto Wallace at Jopiln. Mo., for February 10 and may return for the engaemnt. At the present time he is negotiating here for a .ma tch with Ad. Wo'sast or one of the other prominent lightweights to be staged at the Al-hambra Al-hambra theater in the near future. There are indications that he will be matched for a fifteen-round go. In the event of such arrangement. Young will train with Frank F.nrrieau, the Canadian champion, cham-pion, who has been in Ogden for the past several weeks. |
