Show SENTENCES PASSED FOR MAIL FRAUDS One Defendant Sent to Leavenworth to Serve Year and One Day. OMAHA, Feb. 7. Judge J. W. Wood-rough, Wood-rough, In the United States district court today, passed sentences upon four defendants defen-dants in tiie Arizona "wild horse" case, In which the government charged misuse of the mails to defraud in sums aggregating aggre-gating $1,000,000. C. M". Thompson of Omaha was sentenced sen-tenced to one year and one day In the federal prison at Leavenworth, Kan. His bond was fixed at 110,000.000. C. A. Smith of Omaha was sentenced to three months in jail at Grand Island, Xeb. ' His bond was fixed at ?5000. John Boleey of Omaha was fined $500, as was B. F. Burwinkle of Pes Moines. The latter paid his fine today. Judge Woodrough has reserved his decision in the case of William Hinkley of Braj -ton, S. D. J. Sidney Smith of Omaha was not sentenced. He was taken ill on a train en route here today and was removed to a hospital at Mason City, la. ; Indictments originally were returned against forty-three defendants.
