Show GOING E1ST 10 GET IIS FOR CHILDREN E. W. Stephens Announces Details of Plans for Boys' and Girls' Clubs. Special to The Tribune. OGDEN, Feb. 7. Detailed plans for the organization of boys' and girls' swine clubs throughout the stale were announced an-nounced here t6da when E. W. Stephens, Steph-ens, assistant state leader in club work for theextension division of the Utah AgrieulturaJ college, visited Ogden on his way east. Jlr. Stephens will accompany Professor J. C. Hogenson, state leader in club work, to points in Iowa and Nebraska Ne-braska for the selection of hogs to be distributed among the boys and girls of Utah. During his visit in Ogden today Mr. Stephens conferred witli officials of the Oeden Packing & Provision company, who are financing the project. After a conference at the Iowa Agricultural college col-lege at Ames, Professor Hogenson and Mr. Stephens will go to points in Nebraska, Ne-braska, where a representative of the local packing company is now buying stock from which material for the swine clubs will be selected. According to present arrangements, the first carload of hogs for the clubs will be shipped to Cache valley, distribution to be hiade from Logan or Smithfield. Other carload shipments will be made to Weber, Utah and Sevier colunties. With the distribution dis-tribution of each carload of hogs there will be public meetings, outlining the work among the boys and girls. The Weber county board of education is now arranging to employ a capable livestock man, who will supervise the work of the clubs in this county. |
