POSITIONS OPEN IN PATENT OFFICE Announcement has been made at tlu office of the local secretary of the board of examiners for the United States civil service commission that an examination will be held on dune 7 for the position of assistant examiner in the patent office of-fice at Washington. Several vacancies now exist, and they will be filled from the list of eligibles secureclythrough the examination next month. The job pays a salary of $1500 a year and requires a knowledge of physics, mathematics, technic?, chemistry, French or German and mechanical drawing.
