Show FRUITGROWERS ASK REDUCTION OF LEVY .Special to The Tribune. PROVO, May IS. A delegation of Provo Pencil fruitgrowers, seventy-five strong, appeared before the board of equalization today seeking reduction in the valuation of their fruit lands, which are assessed at from $U'0 to $150 an acre. The ground on which relief was sought is that the injury to fruit from frost would practically leave the owners without with-out income front their land this year. Following this idea the fruitgrowers have called a meeting to hp held in the Tim-panogos Tim-panogos ward meeting house at 7:30 o'clock Monday evening, for the appointment appoint-ment of committees to confer with taxpayers tax-payers In other towns of Die school district dis-trict for the purpose of obtaining their consent and co-operation tn a request to the board of education for a reduction of the levy. |
