Show SEEKS PERMIT FOR STREET SPEAKING Application for permanent permission to conduct street mootlngs was filed with Mayor Samuol 0. Park yostorday by Theodore Peterson, James A. Ers-klne, Ers-klne, E. L. Andorson and A. M. Craig, representing tho Socialist pnTty. A week ago the socialists applied for permission to hold streot meetings for the next two months, implying that thov desired to use tho Btrcots for tho furlherlug of their propaganda during the city election campaign. Now thoy ask that tho permit, if grantod, be made permanent. The mayor has in his possession a letter from the chiof of police recommending recom-mending that tho socialists be allowod to hold thoir meetings on the south side of Second South near State streot, not oftener, however, thnn three times a week and. that the permit bo only for one year. This recommendation probably will be introduced at trie city commission mooting Monday night. |
