Wheat today received re-ceived excellent support on account of higher cables and because of liberal demand de-mand from Europe. Although easy at the close, the market showed a net advance ad-vance of a shade to !3c Corn finished Wic to lc under last night, oats off slc to 8c and provisions down 2Jc to lfc. According to a leading authority, the wheat crop In France was 30,000.000 bushels bush-els short as compared with a year ago. in view of this, traders were Inclined to give sharp attention to export sales here, which were snld to have reached 340.000 bushels. The foreign inquiry was chiefly for hard winter and durum. Falling off in receipts northwest tended to prevent any reaction. There were also dispatches from Portland, Or, telling of big sales of Hour for China, In addition, St. Louis messages were emphatic in pointing out that the use of wheat as feed instead of corn In the southwest was dally showing a matcrlul Increase. Belief that the movement from the country would 'hold at the current level all of next week or longer put the corn market under pressure from short sell ers. Shipping call was light, the cast taking only small quantities. Frost reports re-ports caused a Hllght bulge at the outset, but tho crop was generally regarded as beyond danger.
