In anticipation antici-pation of important developments in connection with the Mexican problem next -wcokT tho stato department officials of-ficials have been giving much attention atten-tion to the execution of tho plans for the withdrawal in safety of those Americans Amer-icans in Mexico who can bo induced to come out of tho country. The immediate result of the state department's warning was to gather a number of such refugees in the seaports, sea-ports, but most of these have now been shipped to the United States and the American consuls in Mexico report re-port a notable diminution in tho number num-ber of Americans who are homeward bound. It is believed those who are now in tho country have decided to remain and take the chancos of protection pro-tection at the hands of the Huorta government. It has not been possible to secure an estimate of their number, num-ber, but it is known that at least a majority of the Americans already have left the country. Lists Being Kept. The American consular officials in Mexico have been keeping lists of all American property from which the owners own-ers have withdrawn in order to establish estab-lish a basis for the settlement of claims that may arise after the revolutionary revo-lutionary movement has ended. In each case the proper Mexican local official has been notified of the withdrawal in 'order that he might take steps to pro-vent pro-vent robbery or looting of the property.
