Show The Hats That Men Will Wear This Fall By CHARLES W. GALLOWAY. Tllr) opening of tho folt hat season thero will bo witnessed a great many varieties of hats, tho stylo of each ono of which l will be eiinally as authoritative as tho other. Among thorn will bo variations of grays, blues, some browns and greens, their popularity rating in about the order named. The last mentioned color, which has boon a popular color, is apparently declining. It is a peculiar fact that'ercen in any kind of men's apparel has never remained with us long. Its mission seoniB to be that of appearing once in a while, uridine a little novdlty to tho mon's apparel for a time and ' thon almost if not wholly disappearing. Nevertheless, green is not to bo wholly eliminated from I he fall linos of tlu hatmakers and from (he showings of the hat shops. The' am expected to retain favor well into another season. .Blue is expected to be a leader this fall, probably because blue is a popular suit color for tho forthcoming forth-coming season. Grays, pearls and mixtures mix-tures aro said to bo less popular than they have boon. A now shade known as "Ohino mixture, which may be described de-scribed as a pearl mixture, has nut in its appearance. This and the darker shades of gray will be looked upon with great; favor, hoth by tho young man and tho man of middle age. In the mixed colors the cloth, volvot and satin finishes are called for. On the subject of soft folt hats, it may be added that the telescope will bo given a different crush. Instead of the usual tolescopo crush, the hat will be oruasof'l in the center on the order of a fedora first. Then, to net the jjroper effort, the thumb and one finger are inserted in the center of tlie crease and separated, thus breaking the sides outward. The popular voguo in hat bands will bb to match the color of the hat, though there will be sonic gray hats worn by ood dressers with black bands on I hem. It is also expci-tod that velvet hat bands will be popular with the young man. These made their ap poar'anco during the past season, but as the straw hat season intervened, they did not have an opportunity to bid for'' favor. They look exceedingly good, and hat few aro preparing for au exceptionally ex-ceptionally good business on them. The bow in tlie back will bo. much worn and a now one which may be described as a "full bow" has made itts appearance, appear-ance, and will bid for men's approval. This ono is so arranged that the loops stand out from tho hat instead of being be-ing pressed Hat. When the time comes for the still' hat some slight modifications from the stylo of hist winter will appear. One of: those will be the hat with the oval crown arid another with a flat-euod flat-euod crown, or squaro crown, as some call it Thero will also bo worn during the early fall some cloth hats. While those may not bo worn extensi vols', they are looked upon by many, especially es-pecially the younger element, ' ua a means" by which to fill in the period between the close of the straw hat and the felt hat seasons. Mixed goods Will be the favorites in cloth hats. Tho lendency toward narrow briina and high crowns continues, and the same general proportions will be popular. popu-lar. The curved brim will be favored in stiff hats. Despite the general lendency toward the narrow Jjnni and high crowns, a ?tilV hat w it'll dimensions of ! ',tc2 with a wide band will be presented for the wearer's approval this fall. Veloms aro ex pec toil to prove 1'ighlv popular tuu3 ?H ? prcdie.fi ffntor. My because they ?
