Show REV. W. H. REHERD MAY COME TO CITY It Is Understood That He Will Assume As-sume the Residency of Wost-j Wost-j minster College. The Rev. Dr W. IT. lleherd of Waterloo, Water-loo, Ja.. a prominent Presbyterian minister, minis-ter, has been selected lo succeed the Rev. R. M. Stevenson as president of Westminster West-minster college in this clly. according to several prominent Presbyterians who are In a position to know. The trustees of the college would neither afllrm nor deny the rumor last night, declaring that they were not prepared lo make any definite statement at the present time. However, it was admitted that the Rev. Dr. Rcherd had been in Salt Lake a short time ago and that he had been called here for a conference with the trustees regarding the presidency of Westminster college. It is believed that satisfactory arrangements were made on both sides. The Rev. Dr. Reherd Is one of lhe best known clergymen of his denomination de-nomination in tho middle west, and has also done some notable foreign missionary mission-ary work for the Presbyterian church. Dr. R. M. Slcvonson retired from the presidency of Westminster college more than a year ago and the chair has been vacant since that time. |
