A petition callinp for a local option election, to be held In December, was tiled by the wet forces this mornlnp. The petition had more than enough namc3 no required by law, there bclnjr required 1S20 and over 2000 boliif,' signed. Tho names of some of the leading bustnesa men In the city and county are signed to tho petition and there are representatives on It from each precinct in tho county. The drys havo started a vigorous campaign against the wet campaign and the contest will be a spirited one from tho start. Both forces aro well organized and are using the malls to distribute literature freely Tho county commissioners will meet on October 14, when action will bo takon as to the calling call-ing of a special election.
