Show CROSS IS PISHED BYFHH I VANCOUVER. B. C. SepU 1. Loach Cross of Now York and Frank Barrlcau of Vancouver, lightweight, sparred a twelvo-round draw at Btlghouse arena this afternoon. It had been agreed at thu suggestion of Cross that tho bout be declared a draw If tho men were on their feet at the end of ten rounds, and this saved the New Yorker a decision, as Barrlcau outpointed out-pointed him in eight of the twelve rounds. In threo rounds Cross had a slight advantage. ad-vantage. At the cud of the bout Cross was bleeding front tho mouth and was badly marked around his loft eyo and on tho jaw. where Barrlcau had landed heavy blows. Cross at the start tried to lake everything every-thing Barrlcau offered while waiting for :ut opportunity to land a knockout. Twice In thc llrst round . Barrlcau caught the Xew Yorker off balance and sent him sprawling. Both times Cross came up feigning grogglness. In the next three rounds Barrlcau time and again beat the Now Yorker to thc punch, while Cross occasionally lashed oul with a vicious right swing that never landed. In the sixth Barrleau was sent tn his knees by a gjanclng blow 011 thc head, but was up in' an Instant. Thc last two rounds developed a great slugging match. Cross tried in vain to land a knockout, Barrloau was too 'itilck and found the Now Yorker's jaw ofton enough to hold off the easterner, who took most of the punishment.
