Show RED SOX DIVIDE WITH THE TIGERS DETROIT, July 19. Detroit and Boston divided today's doublohoader, tho home team winning the first game by 3' to 1, and tho visitors taking the second by G to.2. Tho first gamo was featured by excellent pitching by both teams, Cobb's two catches in center-field, center-field, which resulted in doublo pla3's, boing particularly brilliant. Lewis's batting and fielding were sensational in the second contest. Ho secured three singles nnd a doublo in four times atj bat, and made a running barohand catch of n long fly that brought the crowd to its feet with a cheer. Detroit won tho first game in the seventh inning on singles by Crawford and Veach and Cobb '6 double, and added ad-ded another run in tho oighth on an orror by Gardner, Bush's single and Crawford's sacrifice fly. Boston's ono run resulted from Speaker's double and Gardner's single. Boston did practically all their scoring scor-ing in the eighth inning of tho second contest, when singles by Hooper, Speaker, Wagner and Thomasj Lewis's sacrifice hit and n base, op balls to Gardner notted five runs.
