Show WORK ON RESERVOIR IS BEING PUSHED Ruby Valley Land Project Includes In-cludes Arrangements for Ample Water Supply. Reports from the land project n Ruby valley, which is being carried on by Taylor Bros, of thi city, is to the effect that work on the reservoir and canal system is being pushed forward at a very satisfactory rate. When tho Ruby Valley Land Ss Irrigation company com-pany undertook the colonization of Ruby valley, one of tho first considerations considera-tions was an ample snpplv of water, aud after several months of study and investigation, an extensive irrigation system was decided upon. Tho present reservoir is being con-, structed on tho Robinson creek, where a natural reservoir site is located. At present a fair sized lake fills a portion of the reservoir site, and -with but little lit-tle additional work the company offi- cials seem satisfied that a reservoir of ample proportions can be constructed. con-structed. The conditions surrounding the site are ideal, and the expense of the reservoir construction will be reduced re-duced to a minimum. Eobinson creek rises high up in the .Ruby mountains, and furnishes a sufficient suf-ficient volume of water to keep the1 reservoir well supplied. The Franklin river, which traverses almost the entire en-tire length of the valley, is also being utilized as an additional source of supply, making certain that there will be sufficient water for all purposes. The construction pang is making rapid headway on tho canal system, and the sottlers in the valley seem well pleased with the prospects. Considerable activity ac-tivity is reported in the sales of Ruby valley lands, and each week sees a larcc number of investigators in the vallev. Taylor Bros, have just prepared pre-pared a new booklet containing pic- lures and information regarding the project. |
