Show TWO MEN FREED BY PHH BOARD William Kimberly and Ray Sherrill Are to Be Given Releases. SESSION IS A BUSY ONE Eighteen Cases Are Considered, Consid-ered, but All but Two Are Continued. Eighteen cases were considered yesterday yes-terday by tho stato board of pardons, nino of tho petitioners asking for full pardon, two for commutation of sentence sen-tence and four for parolo. Tho other three eases considered wero coutiuuod oases for pardon. Two pardons wero granted, but generally the sentences meted out by tho courts wero not deemed too severe. Thoso asking for pardon wero: Frank F. Young, convicted in a jus-tico jus-tico court in Salt La'kc county for obtaining ob-taining money under false pretenses and sentenced January 20, 1913, to six months in the county jail, petition denied. William Kimberly, convicted in the Second district court in Weber county of grand larceny, and sentenced January Janu-ary 9, 1912, to three years in tho state prison. Pardon was granted to tako effect ef-fect Soptembor 1, on account of the excellent conduct of tho prisoner and tho fact that ho will have served tho greater part of his term. William Moore, convicted in tho Seventh Sev-enth district court in Grand count' of grand larcen-, and sentenced November Novem-ber 1, 1906. to four years in tho state prison. Petition denied without prejudice. preju-dice. Carroll William Scott and Frank M. Scott, convicted in the Third district court- in Salt Lake county of arson, and sentenced March 20, 1913, to one year in the stato prison. Continued to August moeting. Petition Is Denied. E. B. Johnstone, convicted in the Soventh district court in Carbon county coun-ty of voluntary manslaughter, and sentenced sen-tenced March G, 1913, to one year in the state prison. Ostler, convicted in a justice jus-tice court in Salt Lake county for obtaining ob-taining money under false pretenses and sentenced July 12, 1913, to ninety days in tho county jail. Petition denied. de-nied. W. Halliday, convicted in tho Third district court in Salt Lake county of a statutorj' offense, and sentenced March 15, 1913, to one year in the stato prison. Pardon denied but conditional con-ditional parolo granted. Ray Sherrill, convicted in a justice court in Salt Lako county of obtaining obtain-ing money under false pretenses and sontonced Juno 2, 1913, to four months in tho county jail. Petition was granted grant-ed on account of 3'outh of tho applicant, appli-cant, his offense being only a misdo-meanor, misdo-meanor, and upon tho recommendation of the Rev. Elmer I. Goshen and W. H. Clark, both of whom had become personally interested in tho welfare of tho applicant. Thoso desiring commutation are: Michael McCabe, who was convicted in the Third district court in Salt Lake county of robbery and sentenced March 29, 1907, to fifteen years in the state prison. Petition denied. John Murray, convicted in the Third district court in Salt Lake county of robbery, and sentenced October 11. 1911, to life imprisonment. Denied without prejudice. The petitions for parolo were from: John Percival, convicted in tho Third district court in Salt Lake county of voluntary manslaughter, and sentenced April 18, 1913, to servo ono year in the state prison. Ralph Lawhorn, convicted in the Fourth district court in Utah county of a statutory offense, and sentenced January 29, 1913, to eighteen months in the stato prison. Petition denied. James Marsh, convicted in the Third district court in Salt Lake county of assault with intent to commit murder, and sentenced May 28. 1910, to seven years in the Bfcato prison.
