Donahue, chief of jH the Omaha police department, asking lH that the police of this city arrest and hold for the Omaha authorities, M. C. jH Howard, wanted at that place for issu-Ing issu-Ing thirty forged checks, Detective George Chase had arrested tho man and had him locked In the city Jail Monday night. The Omaha police wero Immcdl-ately Immcdl-ately Informed of tho arrest. The capture of Howard was directly due to the knowledge of human nature possessed by Detoctlve Chase. The tele-gram tele-gram gave a description of the man who IH was wanted and also gave his occupa- IH tlon. In Omaha he had been employod IH as a bartender, and Detective Chase rea-soncd rea-soncd that the man would ho found ln IH some saloon of this city. He also rea-soncd rea-soncd that, other things being equal, the man would ln all probability select some place reminding him of his home town, When Detective Chaao started for the street he had In mind the Omaha Horse Shoe saloon at 50 West First South street. He walked directly to the saloon, and as he entered the door he saw a man answering tho description standing at the cigar cose looking over the tele-phone tele-phone directory. "Isn't your name M C. Howard, and aren't you a bartender from Omaha?" asked the detective. Howard admitted that he was the man, whereupon he was placed under arrest and taken to the station.
