Show THIRTY BALLOTS TAKEN TO MAI OFFICERS Then the Press Association Discovers Dis-covers It Has No Quorum; Election Put OIL Thirty ballots were taken at tho annual an-nual meeting of tho Utah Prcs3 association asso-ciation Monday afternoon when the election elec-tion of a president for tho ensuing year came up for consideration and at the conclusion of the voting tho deadlock was unbroken. T. L. Holmnn of the Bingham Bing-ham Bulletin, J. D. Larson of the Provo Herald and Parley Jensen of the Western West-ern Monthly, present president of the association, as-sociation, were the candidates. The balloting bal-loting was spirited and occasioned a number of warm speeches. After most of the afternoon had been spent In an attempt to break hte deadlock, dead-lock, President Jensen counted the members mem-bers presont and discovered that there was not a quorum ln attendance. All tho balloting had been In vain and it was found necessary to put the election over for throo months, during which tlmo tho incumbents will serve as holdovers. The meeting was held Jn the parlors of the Salt Lake Press club on Main otroct between South Tcmplo and First South streots. |
