Calling tho attontlon of the city council to the recent report of tho grand Jury, setting out that the city's books wore not properly kept and that the municipality had allowed money to bo taken from ono fund for use In another. District Judge J. E. Booth sent a communication to tho council tonight recommending that tho city's books be nut In better shape and that tho transferring trans-ferring of money for use in nnother be stopped. Tho communication was referred to tho finance committee and tho city recorder. J. L. Lytic, engineer for the government govern-ment reclamation service, submitted an objection to the sewer tax levied against government property on East Center street, setting out that under the law government property Is exempt from spe- i clnl taxes. I Tho council has asked that a weather bureau station be maintained In Provo !
