Show BRILLIANT DEBUT OF MISS KATHERINE HILL By Associated Press.. BERLIN", Feb. 5. American Embassador Embas-sador and Mrs. David .Tayno Hill gave one of the largest balls of tho season at the Hotel Arllon tonight to introduce their daughter, Miss Kathorino Hill, into society. Tho crown prince, Frederick Fred-erick William, and Prince Oscar, were among tho (550 guests present, who in-cltidod in-cltidod also many court officials and diplomatic representatives. Among tho Americans present wero General Stewart L. Woodford and Mrs. Woodford, Prof. Benjamin Tde Wheeler of the University of California and Mrs. Wheeler, Miss Eva Spraguo of Berkeley, Cal.; Consul General Thack-aray Thack-aray and Miss Thackaray. Count von Wcdel and' Baron vou Inn Kuypsausen, lioutenants in tho Guards, led the dancing, the latter beginning the Lancers with Miss Hill. The debutante debu-tante wore moussolino do soio over white satin. An old-fashioned quadrille preceded tho traditional German supper waltz, thrco couples waltzing in to the supper, which was served at small tablos. Prince. Oscar had Miss Hill as a partner on this occasion. The cotillon favors for the ladies were fans and statuettes, and for the men ribbons of tho various German orders. or-ders. Embassador nnd Mrs. Hill gave a reception yesterday to American residents resi-dents of Berlin. |
