Show INCREASE IN BIRTHS; DECREASE IN DEATHS Decided Falling Off in Contagion Con-tagion Also Shown by City Health Report There was an increase of twenty-eight births and a decrease of ono death In the city tho past week, as compared with the week previous, according to the report re-port of the health department. The total to-tal number of births reported for the week was fS, of which 'JS were bovs and .10 girls, while the previous week there wore only ?,0 births reported. The deaths numbered 26, of which 17 were males and U were females, while last week there were 27 deaths. Seven bodies were shipped Into tho city for burial In the week. The report also shows 11 decided decrease de-crease In the number of contagious and Infectious diseases reported as compared with tho previous week. There were 2" eases of such diseases reported for the week ending February 4. whllo In the previous week there wero 30 cases on record. At tin close of tho week th'no wore 7J houses still under ouarantlno because be-cause of contagion, while eight cases remained re-mained In quarantine at tho Isolation hospital. |
