Show CITIZENS EDITED OeiNEXITl Movement on Foot to Gain Admission Ad-mission Finds Favor in Southern District. Citizens living just south of the present citj' limits in the territory bounded by Tenth and Twelfth South streets and Stnto and Second West streets tire joining in the movement for annexation with a show of enthusiasm en-thusiasm which indicates that there will be little or no opposition to the plan to bo broached at a mass meeting during dur-ing the latter part of tho present week. Tho water supply question is one of tho great inducements for the thousand thou-sand or more home owners in this territory ter-ritory to come into the cit'. inasmuch as there is little or no water available for the mains which were laid by the county some time ago. On the other hand, the city officinls have promised the residents of this tract that when they shall decide to come into the city, connections will bo mndo with tho city wafer mains immediately, and the sun-ply sun-ply will be given through the , pipes laid hy the county until the city is able to replace them with bettor and larger pipes. Tt is probable that the mass meeting for considering the question of annexation annexa-tion will be called for next Friday evening. The Commercial club special committee on extending the area of the cirv, of which S. H. Love is chairman, will assist in the movement. |
