Show REAL ESTATE NEWS AND THE CITY'S BUILDING OPERATIONS No sale of real estate involving moro than .$10,000 has been reported during the week, but the volume of business, made up mostly of residence property and vacant lots, has been well up to the average. "Real estate brokers who specialize on addition property report a continued demand for lots that has resulted in numerous sales in each addition ad-dition from Park Crescent on the east clear around tho bench to Longview on the south. There is also a strong demand for improved residence property prop-erty more centrally located and many sales have been made for considerations ranging from $2000 to $5000. The deciaion of the school board on the location for the now high school building is awaited with interest by property owners generally, and the general gen-eral belief that the board will select a "site in direct line with the greatest growth of the city and ono of size adequate ade-quate to the interests of tho children has already given an impetus to the demand for property on tho southeast bench. The owners of Park Crescent addition addi-tion report a dozen or more sales during dur-ing the last week, Street grading is now uearing completion, and contracts for cement sidowalks will probably be lot beforo tho end of the month. Mocks & McCartney report that nearly near-ly all of the lots in University Heights Have been sold, with the following snlos during the last few days: William Mills, Jr.. of Now York, twenty-three lots, $6000; J. F. Taylor, formerly of Los Angeles, three lots, $700: "W. S. Henderson, three and one-half lots, $900; A. C. Buffington. two lots, $550; Benjamin Cluff, Jr., five lots, $1250; Harold Cluff, two lots. $500; G. ,T, Mcr-ritt, Mcr-ritt, four lots, $900; W. L. Ludwig, two lots. $500; W. B. Hogan, two lots, $500; L. G, Joice, two lots, $500: T, 'Hoffman, Park City, one and one-half .lots, $075; J..A. Hess, four lots, $1000; 3. V. Mc-Kinney, Mc-Kinney, two lots, $450. Danley & Johnson report sales aggregating ag-gregating moro than $10,000 for the last week. These sales includo a cottage in West 'Temple stroot sold by Mrs. Hcftj', a lot in Second East street between be-tween Fifth nnd Sixth South streets sold by Petor Iiix of Nebraska, and the sale of a corner lot and cottage in Second avenue by S. Hccker to W. J. Coombs. P. J. Morau has added to his local real estate holdings during the last wrcek b3" tho purchase of a trackage site of about 10x10 rods at "Fifth North and Fourth .West streets. Tho deal was made through Tuttle Brothers company and the consideration was $4050.' Following are the names of purchasers purchas-ers of lots in Longview park during the last week: C. S. The owners report re-port that fourteen others have made deposits. Though active work has not yet been started on the new building to be erected on tho west side of State street, between First South and Second South streets, formerly occupied by the liv-erv liv-erv stables of John Farrington, it is likelj' that within a short time a decision de-cision will be reached by the owner, Mrs. Blizabeth JI. .Dunbar of Los Angeles, An-geles, as to the kind of structuro that will adorn this site. Tho kind of building to be erected will depend to a great extent, it is said, on what prospective tenants may want. It is thought that tho building will be a big one nnd a crodit to State street. Tho ground on which it will be erected has a frontage of forty-nine feet nnd is eleven rods deep. |
