Show GAWAN BLENDS BUSINESS ' WITH PLEASURE ON TRIP Frank Gawan started on a trip to Denver last Tuesday, whore ho has gone to purchase stock for P. J. Moran. Gawan expects to make the round trip in about ten days of actual running time. The car he is using is tho fivo-yoar-old Pierce Arrow that has boon m tho company's service for the past five years and has been run ovor a total to-tal mileage of 80,000. Gawan is making mak-ing this trip in the car more as a vacation vaca-tion for a fow davs' outing than for any other reason. Tho distance to Denver Den-ver bv road from this city is (358 miles, and Wj'oming has tho reputation of having "the worst roads in tho Union; in fact, very few cars have ovor mado tho trip without shipping by railroad for at least part of tho journey. Tho roads through Wyoming at this time of tho year are at their very worst, and Gawan certainly is showing extreme confidenco in his old Pierce by putting it to such n test after the severe use this car has seen in the last five years. Gawan is accompanied by Elgin Yankee, Yan-kee, who drivos the car. Thoy will follow tho exact route taken by Ezra Thompson and Frnnk Botterill on their record-breaking trip from Buffalo last July. |
