The price of building material in Salt Lake is beginning lo feel the effects of the stagnant building market hero nnd, Saturday afternoon, the first cut of tho season was announced in lumber. George V. Veil said that customers purchasing pur-chasing lumber from his yard will get their bills 10 per cent lower than tho present market price. As far as can be learned the other dealers about town havo not met the decrease in price, claiming (hat their standard grades of lumber must be sold at present market prices to insure any profit. It is believed, however, by contractors con-tractors and builders that, the price will gradually decline all over town, insuring; insur-ing; cheaper lumber for Salt Lake than tho citv has known in years. Lumber dealers still claim they arc discriminated against in tho matter of rates by roads running into Nevada. The roads claim their rates aro on a fair profitable basis and no-more.
