R I., may lose the National lawn tennis championship cham-pionship tournament, which has been a feature of that fashionable resort for many years. It was learned a couple of days ago that the TrI-Stato Lawn Tennis association has been approached In tho interest of a transfer of the famous tourney to the Crescent courts, at Uav Ridge. Jj. I. Action by the Tri-State Lawn Tennis officials Is expected early this month, when a delegate to the National association asso-ciation meeting wiUo chosen. At present pres-ent CJnclnnatl lawn tennis followers aro not prepared to side with cither faction. Reals Wright and R. D. Little arc said to he among the chief advocates of a change. Robert I.eRoy. present holder of the TrJ-SUite championship, and his New York friends aro said to favor Newport. |
