Show KING GREETS BRYAN Euler of England . Beceives Loader of American Democracy. LONDON, JulfcG. William Jennings Bryan, who was introduced by Embassador Embassa-dor Reid, was received in private au-dlonco au-dlonco by King Edward at Buckingham palace today. The visit was paid at the King's special request, his Majesty having hav-ing notified Mr. Reid that he desired to meet Mr. Bryan. The Interview was qulto Informal and was marked by the pleasing cordiality which the King Is accustomed ac-customed to show Americans In whom he Is Interested. Only the King, Mr. Reid and Mr. Bryan were present. The conversation con-versation largely turned on the subject of peace and conference of the Interparliamentary Inter-parliamentary union with the objects of which tho King showed himself thoroughly thorough-ly In accord. Subsequently the King received some eighty members of the Inter-Parllamon-tary union in tho throne room. Congressman Congress-man Richard Bartholdt of Missouri: T. E. Barton of Ohio and Rockwood Iloar'of Massachusetts, representing the American Ameri-can group. Mr. Bryan accompanied his three companions com-panions at this function, which was somewhat in the nature of a levee. King Edward, who woro plain clothes, stood In front of the throne while the visitors filed past. As each person was Introduced tho King shook hands with him, making mak-ing occasional brief remarks to tho most prominont members of tho party. |
