The Salt Lakers return from their excursion Co Los Angeles An-geles In the best of spirits, and sanguine san-guine that their visit and the return islt from Is Angeles thru ban been arranged for will do much for the advantage ad-vantage and d lopment of both i iil-n. The Salt Lakers were treated royally b i lie Los Angelenes, and they will ever remember wltb pleasure the i feeling displayed toward iheni and the gracious courtesies tended. It was an eye-opening trip to many. In the realization of the solidity of construction con-struction and smoothness of track of the new road! in the extent and richness rich-ness of the region It traverses, and In the evident business advantages this city can reap in the supply of the great mining ramps of Nevada and the return re-turn shipments and treatment of theii ores; In the reciprocal exchange of trade between this city and southern California; and In the certainly that most of the immense fruit shipments from there will pass through Salt Lake. Every one realized anew and with added force, the tremendous advantage this new and great railroad will give to this city, the Impetus It will give to Its growth and the debt It owes to Senator Clark and his associates. Messrs. Kerens Ker-ens K earns and Keith, for their public spirit and enterprise in taking up this large projert and pushing It through to the speedy completion which admitted admit-ted of this enjoyable and profitable excursion There will within thirty days, as now planned, bo a return excursion from Los Angeles, which Is expected to be composed of about five hundred of the leading men of Ios Angeles In all walks of life, it will be Incumbent upon up-on this city to return the courtesies and display to our visitors the advantages and beauties of this place and vicinity. The visitors will no doubl be the Joint guests of the Commercial Club, of the city, and of the Real Estate Association, Associa-tion, as the excursion from here was comprised chiefly of members of the Commercial Club, of the city officials, and of members of the Real Estate Association. As-sociation. There will be much both of business and of pleasure to shv, to our Los Angeles An-geles friends. There is the lake, a visit to which will certainly be on the programme, pro-gramme, and though it Is not as wide as the Pacific, It makes up for this In being so much Salter There will be recitals at the Tabernacle, and various forms of recreation and pleasure In the city, and personal courtesies; a banquet, ban-quet, of course, and sentiments of amity and good will There will be drives about the city, shouting the beauties of hill and valley, and the grand site occupied by the city, with views of and visits to the smelters and the rich farming districts of the vulley. Then there will be excursions to tho mines, to show where all the Wealth comes from that Is doing so much to advance and beautify the city to Park City, to Bingham, to Tin tic, with canyon can-yon views by the way, that In themselves them-selves are a Joy to see. All Halt Lake should Join with hearty accord in doing honor to this party of visitors which is coming from Los Angeles An-geles It will be both pleasure and profit to treat them well, nnd give them the highest possible opinion of Salt Lake's resources, hospitality. and greatness And in this spirit of cordiality cor-diality and reciprocal neighborllness. we await with pleasurable anticipation the coming of the southern Callfornians. |
