Nev.. are enthusiastic over tho efforts that aro being put out by Gov. John Spaiks to ameliorate conditions condi-tions at Reno, in the material sense. One of these. Tax and Bullion Agent James Hi Nevin states that among the many other evidences of Governor Spnrks's broad and comprehensive plans, and one that has 1upt materialized. Is tho purchase pur-chase of Hunter creek. The Gov ernor paid $50,000 for this stream, and it Is said thet ho will establish a water system for the town of Reno that will supply thej city with ample water and with a qual-l' qual-l' very much superior to the water supplied sup-plied by the present company. Tho pipe, for tho new pipe line three miles long, is already on the. ground nnd 1 being strung out and the, trenches are being dug This Is but one of the material Improvements Im-provements Governor Sparks has in mind for Rero. but the advance It promises prom-ises Is reported to have scared the; monopoly mo-nopoly that now runs tho water works of that growing town, and thev are reported re-ported to havo made a handsome money offer for the waters of Hunter creek If tho Governor would withdraw his competitive- measure.
