Show Nominees Extend Cqngratolations Messages Pnss Between Roosevelt and Fairbanks Over the j Nominations. I CHICAGO, June 23.-Sonator Fairbanks was at his hotel when ho heard of the nomination by ' acclamation of i President Roosevelt, and he promptly prompt-ly sent this telegram: "Tho President, Washington I am pleased- to extend to you my heartiest congratulations upon your nomination nmfd great enthusiasm Charles AV. Fairbanks." Later In the afternoon the .Senator received re-ceived this telegram, dated Whlto House. Juno 23: "Pormlt ino to oitend to you and the country my heartfelt congratulations congratula-tions on your nomination. I noed hardly add how pleased I am personally. Thco-doro Thco-doro Roosevelt." In reply tho Senator telegraphed tho President: "I thank, you for your cordial congratulations. To be . named .by thu convention as your associate In the great campaign that Is before us' In a distinction distinc-tion which deeply appreciate." Hundreds of telegrams were received In tho Senator this cvoning from all parts of the country, and by nightfall Fairbanks Fair-banks buttons wore everywhere to bo seen. The Indiana delegation in the House of Representatives this afternoon sent this dispatch to President Roosovelt. "The members of the Indiana delegation in the House of Representatives congratulato you upon tho unanimity and enthusiasm of your nomination. Rooaovolt and Fairbanks Fair-banks will receive tho electoral votes of Indiana in November." |
